Shopping in Abbotsford? Check Out These Top Hotspots!

Shopping in Abbotsford? Check Out These Top Hotspots!

Are you visiting Abbotsford BC for the day? Have you arrived from out of town and are looking for souvenirs from your trip here? Or are you stuck on figuring out what to do with your time? Shopping in Abbotsford is something bound to happen eventually, and lucky for all of us there are some unique options aside from what you’d expect to find in the shopping mall!

Whether it’s finding the perfect souvenir for your loved ones or you want to bring some fresh food or a bottle of wine home for dinner, there are not only lots of things to do here in our “City in the Country” but also places to shop around at.

McCallum Junction Shopping Centre

residential area Abbotsford

The McCallum Junction is one of the newest developments in Abbotsford’s newest midtown! You can’t miss it given the giant Cabela’s signage out front. Speaking of Cabela’s, if outdoorsy equipment, hunting gear, camping supplies, or fishing rods are on your shopping list, this would be the place to go!

That’s not the only major shop McCallum has to offer, either. Grab yourself a hot drink from the nearby Starbucks via their brand new drive-thru, either before or after you go on your shopping venture, or check out one of the nearby restaurants for lunch!

Address: 1884 McCallum Road, Abbotsford BC, V2S 6R4

Old Abbotsford

Old Abbotsford is basically Montrose Avenue, but over the years it has swiftly grown into less of a street and more and more as a walking village. Its five blocks of street have gradually introduced many cute clothing stores, spas, and tons of restaurants to the neighbourhood. That’s quite the change considering that over a century ago it was a mere intersection of two major thoroughfares—Old Yale Road and the Canadian Pacific Railway line, each connecting to New Westminster, Mission, Sumas WA, and Hope and beyond.

Filled with both history and wide sidewalks and ample parking, there’s no doubt that Old Abbotsford makes for an excellent day trip and a highly recommended shopping spot!

Highstreet Mall

Highstreet is described as the Fraser Valley’s premiere theatre, dining, and shopping centre, and we couldn’t agree more! As well as regular shopping outlets there are lots of family-friendly activities happening weekly such as yoga, unique fitness classes for all ages and skill levels, and community efforts and events. If you’re looking to catch the latest flick with a friend, this would be the place to go!

Located at the foot of Sumas Mountain, Clayburn Village is considered widely to be one of Abbotsford’s hidden gems as it has been designated as a conservation site in 1996. Each building has been lovingly renovated and restored to its original Victoria era architecture since the village was established in 1905.

Ripe with history and fraught with all kinds of small businesses, Clayburn Village is a tourist’s dream! Its highlights that are especially worth visiting include the Clayburn Village Store, which includes a tea shop and British candies, and the Clayburn Comforts Soap & Bodyworks shop. You can also find some great souvenirs at the Clayburn Village Museum such as centennial Clayburn bricks.

Nature’s is in particular of interest because of its beautiful grounds as well as fresh produce, deli meat, and farm-fresh groceries, making it a great location for car shows!

Whatever you may be in search of, whether it’s fresh produce or an upgrade to your wardrobe, there’s something worth shopping for at the Abbotsford Power Centre and Nature’s Pickin’s Market!

If you can’t get enough of visiting Sevenoaks, right across the street is West Oaks Mall! This location offers more professional services than shopping areas and it’s a touch smaller than Sevenoaks, but it’s well worth mentioning because of the types of services it offers, such as:

  • East West Dental Group
  • Mike’s Shoe Repair
  • V’s Nail Salon
  • Ed’s Hairstyling

There are also plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, clothing stores, and regular outlets such as London Drugs and Michael’s located here. It may be smaller than Sevenoaks, but West Oaks still has quite a lot of different shops and services to offer!

We’ve talked about the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market before, but what’s so great about this market is that it is open even in the winter! This would be your best stop to find fresh produce as well as many other delectable goodies on every Saturday from mid-April to late December.

Try one of their award-winning jams or honey, bring home a bouquet of their fresh-cut flowers, smell some of their handmade soap, or pick out one of their hand-crafted pieces of jewelry. You will also find some baked goods from Gesundheit Bakery for sale there. Whatever you’re looking for, whether it’s a gift or the ingredients for tonight’s meal, we’re sure you’ll find it here!

Each time they’re open they tend to switch up their vendors with guest stars. Stay tuned to their website to keep in touch with who’s coming to sell what!
